Sourdough Discard Scones

| 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on sweetness preference) | |

| 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed | |
| 1/2 cup sourdough discard (unfed, straight from the fridge) | |
| 1/3 cup heavy cream (or milk, if preferred) | |
| 1 large egg | |
| 1 tsp vanilla extract | |
| 1/3 cup chocolate chips |

Preheat oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare dry ingredients first.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add cold and cubed butter to dry ingredients. Cut butter into flour mixture with a fork or your fingers until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
