Is pizza your favorite meal? So why not make a pizza from scratch yourself and put all your favorite toppings on it. Sourdough discard pizza dough is a fantastic way to use up the leftover from your sourdough starter while making a thin and crispy pizza crust. 

This pizza dough is relatively easy to make, and the sourdough gives it a subtle strong flavor. With this receipt, you can also reduce food waste and enjoy a home made pizza with the whole family.

This recipe makes enough dough for two medium-sized pizzas (about 10-12 inches each).

Ingredients:

1 cup sourdough discard (240g)
214 cups all-purpose flour (280g)
34 cup warm water (180ml)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
12 teaspoon instant yeast (optional, for quicker rise)

Directions

Mix the Dough with other Ingredients a a large bowl:
Combine the sourdough discard, warm water, and olive oil. Stir until well mixed. Add the flour and salt (and yeast if using) and stir until a fluffy dough forms.

Knead the Dough until smooth and elastic:
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Alternatively, you can knead the dough in a stand mixer with a dough hook for about 5 minutes.

Let the dough rise
Put the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a cloth or plastic wrap and leave to rise in a warm place for about 3-4 hours or until the dough has doubled in size. You can also let the dough rise in the fridge overnight.

Shape the Dough in to a round ball:
When the dough has risen, put it on a a table or and divide it into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a round ball. Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes to relax.

Prepare the Pizzas:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out each dough ball on a floured surface into a 10-12 inch circle. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.

Add Your favorite Toppings:
Add your favorite pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings, such as ham, pineapple, champignon, caper, tuna, chicken, olive, pepperoni and shrimp

Bake Your Pizza:
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese has melted nicely.
